The question has always been, can you work away from home with just your iPad and iPhone, the answers is yes and no, for the most part, it’s a big yes, I read my mail, answered some and even unzipped a file attached to a email, and loaded it up with filemaker Go, excellent, I can blog, although I did not get the chance over the weekend to complete one, so Sunday was a null day for the Konstrukshon Blog. I’m not mentioning the hang over from the night before !

Even getting a WiFi signal was not a problem as I nearly always use my iPhone with its hotspot to link into the web, all my drawings were available, via a simple pdf folder on dropbox, plus all the rest of my files, as I now keep them all on dropbox.

As for the Zipped file, I used Goodreader to open it up and load it into Filemaker, its one of my most used applications, mostly to read pdf files and mark them up as required.

I started to make some notes vis the evernote app, this loads onto dropbox, for pickup later, infract , I started to add notes to the book I’m writing. all in plane text. Oh just a a side point, I found a great tip the other day to copy and paste without formatting, so important when using WordPress or for that matter any other writing medium, on the Mac it’s shift/CMD/V

The no side is that I can’t use Vectorworks, not that it was a problem this weekend, my good lady would have had something to say, if I started drawing, So there it is, the more I use the iPad the more the answer  has to be yes.

Will I upgrade from my version 1 iPad with little or no memory to the highly anticipated Version 3 with a lot more memory, dam right I will.
