Recently on a trip to Warwick I passed by this fine example of a wall to a house that caught my eye, it predominantly brick with an interesting twist in that the centre portion has used brickwork panels in a herringbone pattern. The top course is brick on edge with a tile DPM also acting as a rain shed , with two courses of herringbone brickwork, again with a tile DPM, to outline the panel, with a stretcher bond lower foundation. Wall thickness is 215 with Piers of brickwork to create the vertical panel walls, set I think quite widely, a hawthorn hedge set of the wall to perfection. I was driving at the time and could not stop, but I estimate the centre of the piers to be at least 3m. As the wall approaches the gate way it rises to full height in a curving slope to two very nice timber gates. Time did not allow me to stop to long so I only managed two shots, the other as usual is on Flickr
