Architectural Technologist – Video’s

by scays on 08/10/2009

If your head has been in a cloud, then you will not have noticed the advance i Video cameras and their use on the internet, The old idea that you need a broadcast camera and studio is just way out of date, a practice can record shots and clips of their buildings and ideas, ready to be pulled together in any one of a dozen or so programs, I use Final cut Express, for ease of use and the good backup of Youtube tutorial videos.

But its the way its pulled together thats the heart of this blog, I take time to trawl the internet looking for good quality Architectural style videos, looking at the way content has been shown, why its been shown, is it a documentary style video, or is it what I call freestyle, clips merging into on another, does music play a part, does it help !, can I reproduce the effects on my copy of Final Cut Express.

You might like to start on Youtube its just full of videos, some pretty poor, and some startlingly good, but for real quality, try a site like Open film I like this site, the quality is very high, both in the media thats been used, ie mostly HD and the actual content, there are lots of different categories to look through,

Do we as Architectural Technologist need to learn this video stuff, possibly, if practices are to survive and gain work, then they should be looking at the video content of their search for clients, Most CAD packages can do run throughs of 3D images and save it as a mov / mg4 files why not enhance it with decent cutting and additional shots of the project.

You might be wondering why I have not included an Architectural Tech film, but I just could not find one via Zemanta so I plumbed for this great, sound instead
