I think I have mentioned this Lisa Iwamoto lecture before, but its been some time since I looked at it, and today I have let the lecture run for the complete hour it last on Youtube, its one of those lectures that each time you see it, you come away with a different view, this time I came away with a distinct impresion of different shapes I can use to interact with new materials to create structure. I am a very old fashioned Architectural Technologist/designer, and have a fear of using GRP or other plastics in construction on such a large scale, but that’s not the point, I came away with, its form and strucral strength. I particulaly liked the thin form structural vault in paper she showed, about 29 mins into the lecture, it reminded be of a cathedral I went to in Germany recently. I wonder if she has ever dabbled in Nanotechnology, it seems ths might be right up her street.
Take at least an hours CPD for watching this lecture, and perhaps wonder onto the other lecture on the related tab, I liked this little container house.
