I saw this article on Frank Lloyd Wright at the Guggenheim via the Arch Daily site, and was intrigued, I have been to the Guggenheim, and apart from the entrance which lets you into the main ground floor and exposes you to the vast spiral void above, and of course the exhibition its self, I fail to see what all the fuss is about, maybe its a good visual external design, but for the Technologist its a badly design building that’s full of crude detailing and a sack full of materials that just should never have been used.

When I was there, albe it just before Xmas, it was cold, and the building was packed, and a lot of the windows were streaming with condensation, the staff had to put up roll mops to soak up the water. the rooms of were strange, small entrances lead to large rooms were the diferent exhibitions were laid out, and I found it hard to navigate.

Walking up the spiral ramp, is ,,,, strange, inset into cubicals to the side are smaller exhibits, and often as not two or three exhibits are linked together, I liked the exhibitions, they are well worth going to see, and you should see the Guggenheim, but not for its glory, more the mistakes made in the detail.

Stil the article and links are good.

I have added a new categorie for building reviews, I will start to populate this as and when I see building I want to shout about.
