Whats this you say, well I’m back from my trip to the very north of Norway, lots to tell and lots to show, I will dribble some choice shots onto the flickr site and as I get time I’ll tell of some construction I saw. the basic question is, how do you design for temperatures that get so low, and also the permafrost, that layer of frozen ground that remain just under the surface. I did a lot of work on this subject whilst I was tech manager in Dow, so more of this later.
Plus the midnight sun, I kid you not, I stayed up and was sun bathing at about 2 am at a latitude of aprox 71:10:20 the sun just dones not set in the summer. OK I had by that stage several glasses of wine, but what the heck, I did not have to drive anywhere the next day !
